What is Unmapped Destination Presentation?

The full team is expected to make an on-stage presentation of a ‘lesser known tourism destination in Kerala’ with the help of a power point presentation. This is to be the creation of students and not something that is generally popular/known in the tourism map. You must pose as the Management/Business Development team of a tour operating company/Homestay/Houseboat/Farm-house/Ayurveda centre/Culture Centres etc. and sell the tourism product & facilities to prospective customers like tour planners, tour operators in a tradeshow/exhibition. The judges will ask questions from a customer/buyer point of view. Please note that the product must be Kerala Tourism based.

Rules for Unmapped Destination Presentation

All students must mandatorily carry their college ID cards/ Authorization letter signed by the Principal/HOD of their respective institutions.

One entry per college/School.

Participants are requested to report at the venue 1 hour prior to the commencement of the event.

Maximum number of members in team shall be 5 (five).

Time limit for on-stage presentation shall be 7-10 min.

Questions by the judging panel could be for 5 min.

Power Point Presentation shall not preferably exceed 10 slides.

Language for presentation is preferably English.

Students must bring their power point presentations in CDs or pen drives with name written on it (one back up pen drive/ CD must be brought along for support).

Organizers reserve the right to have preliminary screening rounds before the final presentation on stage. Such preliminary elimination round could be a 2 min presentation (without slides) by one of the team members before the screening committee.

Participants in Unmapped Destination Presentation shall not be permitted to participate in Product Presentation organized by Shipping & Logistics Dept.

The panel of Judges will be constituted by leaders from the industry.

Judge’s/Guider’s decision will be final and binding.

Guidelines for the Participants

The presentation must be properly planned and organized.

Make an impressive introduction.

Team members must be introduced with names and designations.

You must have a company name, logo, address and website.

Have clarity on the target market and sales/marketing procedures.

Provide clear picture of the different aspects of the tourism product.

Support with clear diction.

Sell with passion and conclude well.

Judging Criteria

Creativity and originality.

Reality in presentation. Name, logo, address, website.

Planning- how the presentation is executed and displayed.

Best management team- how you work as a team.

Marketing and sales techniques used.

Presentation skills.

Product Presentation

What is a Product?

‘Product can be any eco-friendly product which helps the earth to be greener’.
For eg: a product which helps to reduce carbon emission, a fertilizer which is not chemical, a toothbrush which decomposes fully, an air-conditioner which is not polluting……(can be FMCG, Food items, industrial goods etc.)

What is Product Presentation?

First is a one (1) minute stage enactment of an advertisement for the product. The team members shall perform this on the stage in English or Malayalam. You may use background music, voice over, slides to make it more attractive.

Second is an on-stage presentation by the full team with the support of power point slides. You shall pose yourself as the Management/Business Development team of the company manufacturing the product and sell such product to prospective customers/buyers like dealers, distributors, large supermarkets (eg: Lulu), online e-commerce platforms (eg: Amazon), in a tradeshow/exhibition. Here, you shall strive to explain what problem the product intends to solve, features and functionalities of the product, pricing etc. If you can explain the sourcing of raw materials, distribution of finished products and the logistics around it, you may score additional points.

The judges will ask questions from a customer/buyer/distributor point of view. Please note that the product must help the earth to be greener.

There could be a surprise selling session, which will be announced at the venue.
